This is a FREE drop-in event, so you can stop by anytime between 10:30AM-12:30PM to participate. Note that the center opens to the public at 11AM, so the first half hour of crafting will be reserved for Core Volunteers.

Workshop: Intro to Block Printing
Participants will learn how to transfer an image to a block, carve it out, and make prints of the image. The instructor, Patrik, will also introduce alternative materials that can be used and focus on how to block print using reused materials. Participants can bring their own simple drawing to carve or choose a simple image provided to make one small printing block from- no time will be available during the workshop to create a design.
This workshop is appropriate for ages 18+ only.

In this workshop, participants will learn how to create their own printmaking designs using recycled materials such as cardboard, yarn, corks, plastic, and more. After constructing your printing “plates”, you will pull your own unique prints on sustainably sourced paper and other surfaces to take home. Gain skills in the basics of the printing process to continue on your own at home!

Workshop: Styrofoam Printmaking
Styrofoam is one of the hardest materials to properly dispose of, and it's everywhere! But did you know that it's a great material for printmaking?
This workshop is great for people with no relief printing experience or printmakers wanting to learn how to incorporate reuse into their work. You will learn basic relief printing skills that will transfer to stamp carving, linocut and wood block printing. All materials and tools provided. Participants will leave with reusable printing plates and a short run of handmade prints.
This workshop is appropriate for ages 11+ only. Minors must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

Kid's Workshop: Printmaking
Printmaking is a fantastic way for children to experience the process of creating something from start to finish. In this workshop, we will use common materials to design our own unique stamps. Our instructor, an experienced artist and educator, will guide your kids through the process with ease.
After creating our masterpieces, it's time to see the magic happen! Kids will be thrilled to see their designs come alive as we print them onto paper, revealing their amazing creations! This hands-on and interactive morning is perfect for children to explore their artistic talents and experiment with design.
This workshop is appropriate for those 5-15 years old. Minors do not have to be accompanied by a ticketed adult.
Workshop: Block Printing for Mom
Participants in this workshop will learn the art of hand block printing! The instructor will provide lots of vintage, hand carved mango wood blocks with traditional Indian motifs for folks to use on their tea towels.
Create intricate designs like mandalas, or keep it simple with a single motif. This traditional craft of block printing is easy and safe for kids to do, making it a great opportunity for kids to make a special gift with or for mom!
This workshop is best enjoyed by ages 14 years and up.
