As a core volunteer, you can participate in our take-home projects!
Members of the core volunteers team can check out bins of donations to work on our their own time outside of the center and community session times.
Either by using their specialty knowledge in the comfort of their own space to process items or helping sort out a bin of materials in need of a little touch-up before sending it out.

As a core volunteer you'll have several options in how and what you can volunteer for ACR.

✅ Social & community events – Support make & takes, reuse markets, craft nights, and so much more!
Enjoy volunteering while making a difference!

Age: 15 or or older (or with parent accompanied)
Commit to volunteering for at least 3 months
Volunteering at minimum 8 hours or twice a month

Yes, becoming a core volunteer requires completing the orientation process online. After completing orientation, if you're interested in handling specialized items such as jewelry, tools, beads, stickers, watches, hardware, and more, we can arrange additional training for those areas.

At minimum 3 months. We ask monthly for 8 hours of volunteering.

Submit core application through Austin Creative Reuse’s website.

After submitting the core volunteer application you will receive:
A email with instructions.
Links to watch the online orientation.
Knowledge quizzes about donation processing/pricing/instructions.
After that you may:
Fill out volunteer preference form
Read the volunteer handbook and sign the oath of confidentiality.
Schedule a orientation tour of Austin Creative Reuse and meet with our volunteer team.
